Good morning,
Today is a reflection day.
Today as I looked back over our recent Exodus readings, my eyes settled on 14:13-14.  The Israelites are cornered.  Having been expelled from Egypt and set free from captivity, Pharaoh has decided to give chase.  Their backs are against the sea and an army is coming.  Not good.  They whine.  Verse 11 is a classic – “Is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness?”  It is easy to whine and gripe and second guess when things in life seem to be going against us.  What Moses says is wonderful;
“Fear not and stand firm and see the salvation of the Lord… The Lord will fight for you and you have only to be silent.”
These instructions apply to us whenever we feel like we are cornered.  They apply when –  as we have been following the Lord –  it seems we have made a terrible mistake and are up against a wall.  Pray?  Of course.  Whine?  No!  Fear not!  Stand firm!  Watch Him bring deliverance.  He will not only do the fighting, but He will bring the victory.  Amen.
in Him,  Mike
