speed

Good morning!

Text: 2 Thessalonians; Isaiah 42
We are living in the end times.  We do not know when Jesus will return, but it may be very soon. In that light, what really matters is our Kingdom work of prayer and proclamation.  We need the power from God we access by our prayer.  The world around us needs Jesus.  2 Thessalonians 3:1 being us these words:

Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may speed ahead and be honored…

We are called to pray for one another, for all the saints (other believers – Eph 6:18), our brothers and sisters who, like us, are called to spread the Good News of Jesus.  Our prayers propel the Gospel to a lost and dying world in desperate need. See the word “speed”?  The Word needs to go forth with haste as the end draws near.
Knowing this, here is a challenge:  How much of our prayer life is devoted to others that they might spread the Gospel?  …or do we mostly pray for our needs and the needs of one another within the church?
