A disabled man stands on a ridge, greeting the dawn.
Good morning!
Text:  Matthew 8-10; Psalm 62
Matthew is chock full of great truth.  A scene that caught my eye is the one in Matthew 9:1-8 where Jesus heals a paralytic man.  When He does, He commands the man to;
“Rise, pick up you bed and go home.”  (9:7).
The man does so.  The text continues:
When the crowds saw it, they were afraid, and they glorified God…
Here is a picture of a pattern for all of our lives.  Jesus heals us of sin and death and many other maladies.  When he does, He commands us to be obedient.  In our obedience, we actually do things that were not possible before Jesus made us whole.  It is when we get up and walk – when we actually live doing things that had been impossible before His touch on our lives – we bring glory to God.  The people see us and ask, “How is that possible that this person can do this?”  The answer is “Jesus, that’s how.  With Him, all things are possible.”
So- in our salvation, in our healing, let’s get obedient and show what Jesus can do.  Amen.
in Him,  Mike
