Good morning!
Text: 1 Timothy 1-3; Psalm 119:49-64.
The two letters to Timothy are important for us as they give clear instructions about leadership and conduct in the Church. Coming off our week of prayer, the opening words of chapter 2 got my attention:
“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people…” 1 Timothy 2:1
“First of all” suggests the priority, emphasis, and importance of prayer in the life of the Church. In fact, along with the Word – the Bible – prayer is a bedrock essential. For us to be a church that follows Jesus, we must be under His authority, His instruction, and obedient to His leading. Our communication channel with the Lord must always be open. No “lost coverage” or “dropped calls.” Prayer is our lifeline. Keep at it!
