Good morning!

Today is a reflection day.
Psalm 119 is a beautiful and remarkable chapter.  It is the longest in the Bible, and it is exactly in the middle of the Bible.  It comprises an acrostic poem of twenty two stanzas, one for each each letter of the Hebrew alphabet  Each stanza is eight verses long and every verse begins with the same letter.  Amazing.  Overall, Psalm 119 is a celebration of the Word of God.
This verse made me think:

I will lift up my hands toward your commandments, which I love,
and I will meditate on your statutes. (Psalm 119:48)

What an image.  I see God’s people with their hands lifted heavenward, open in anticipation of receiving a gift from the Lord.  I see a  picture of baby birds in a nest with mouths wide as the wait for the mother bird to bring them something to eat.  As God’s people, we have a hunger to hear from God.  As the Psalmist writes, we love His commandments, and when we hear them we meditate upon them,  We are so blessed to have His Word!
