Text: Ephesians 5; 1 Chronicles 3-4
I am often able to dissipate time with trivial pursuits, so these words in today’s text easily caught my underlining pencil:
Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. (Ephesians 5:15-16)
What this word says to us is that we are to be very mindful how we use our time. For those among us who are in Christ, we have work to do for Him, and it is really important. Our life in this flesh is brief. Time is such a precious thing – when we misuse it we cannot get it back. We cannot borrow or barter time, for every single one of us gets the exact same allotment each day. That said, some of us have more days than others, and when time’s up, it’s up. And every minute we spend on other things than those Jesus has for us is “evil”. Sobering. And also exciting – today is a whole twenty four hours of available time to make an eternal impact. Use it wisely!
in Him, Mike
