Good morning!
Text: 2 Chronicles 25-27; Psalm 107
This morning’s reading spoke of King Jotham of Judah, one who “did right in the eyes of the Lord.” 2 Chronicles 27:6 says this about him;
So Jotham became mighty, because he ordered his ways before the Lord his God.
I will on vacation this next week, and life will anything but routine. The rhythm and structure of the work week will evaporate into relaxing and varied days. But, vacations end and the metronome of life must restart. Or God is a God of order. Consider the precision in the laws of physics and the structure of our universe. It is good to have structure, routine and disciplines that help us move toward the goals God has laid before us. That does not imply rigidity, as the Lord can redirect, surprise and challenge on short notice. But it does suggest we need to plan, to set things straight, to keep desks tidy, and to not allow schedules to get confused. As I return from vacation in a little over a week, I know I will have some things to get in order for the Lord. How about you?
