Today is a reflection day.
1 Corinthians is rich – it speaks to us at every turn. Consider this:
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. (1 Corinthians 9:24)
I used to be a distance runner, but I ran for fitness and not to compete. But I did row crew -those long skinny rowboats with multiple oarsmen – in college (lightweight crew a little guy). To win a race required wrenching, all-out effort. The sport was brutally competitive. and the winning boat not only rowed in perfect harmony, but with every last ounce of physical effort.
Our life in Christ is to be like this. So… how much effort are you expending for the Lord? Are you all-out, or are you on cruise?
