Good morning!

Text:  1 Corinthians 9-11; Psalm 99

We are here on earth by God’s design and for His purposes.  If we know Jesus, if we have received His grace and are forgiven of our sins, if we have been granted eternal life and adoption into God’s family, then our purpose is clear.  We are here to share Jesus with others so that they might too receive these gifts.  In that light, the lost world out there is the object of our service. Consider these words:

For though I am free from all, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win more of them… To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. (1 Corinthians 9:19,22)

These words challenge me.  How committed am I to the people in my life who are far away from God?  Do I see them as my highest human priority?  Am I willing to change what I do and where I go that I might share Jesus with them?  Am I willing to sacrifice my time and treasure?  How much do I love them?  Do I love them as much as Jesus loved me when He went to the cross while I was yet a sinner?
