Text: 1 Corinthians 15; 1 Kings 1-2
1 Corinthians 15 is a powerful treatise on the reality of the resurrection of Jesus and the life-changing impact of this truth. He rose, and so will we. We are bulletproof, immortal. Our resurrection body, like His, will be glorious. A verse that captured the underline of my pencil this morning is 15:45:
Thus it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam became a life-giving spirit.
In our old flesh we are as Adam – created by God and yet fallen. In Adam we are alive in the flesh yest spiritually dead. In the Gospel we have the gift of life. But in Jesus we have received new life, eternal life, resurrection life. And we are called to be imitators of Jesus. So, here is a challenge: Am I “a life giving spirit”? When I touch others, do they receive grace, forgiveness and life from me? …or judgment, condemnation and death?
