Good morning!

Text:  Psalms 69-70
Our Bible reading schedule gets through the entire Book in a year.  As I read each day, I underline passages that speak to me.  Today, Psalm 69:9 caught my heart:

“For zeal for your house has consumed me…”

The Lord’s house is not a building, not the temple or the church structure.  His house is the place where He rules and reigns, the place where His family dwells.  That word, “zeal” is defined “great energy or enthusiasm in pursuit of a cause or an objective.”
So, do I have zeal for the Lord, for His Kingdom and His people… for the work and folks of my own church?  Consuming zeal?  As you think about your answer, let these synonyms for the word “zeal” roll through your mind: Passion, ardor, love, fervor, fire, avidity, devotion, enthusiasm, eagerness, keenness, appetite, relish, gusto, vigor, energy, intensity, fanaticism…
