Good morning!

Text:  Acts 1  (Deuteronomy 25-26)

The Book of Acts tells the story of the work of the Holy Spirit, active in the lives of Jesus’ followers, to establish and build the early Church.  Just before Jesus ascended from earth to heaven, He spoke these words to his followers:

“…you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”   (Acts 1:8)

Indeed the Spirit came to them, and likewise He has come to us today.  Did you know that you have been given power?  If you are a believer in Jesus, His power is in you.  The power of the Holy Spirit is the creative power of God, the power of truth, and the power that brings life – even eternal life.  We have that power.  And the Spirit has given us each gifts to serve God in our own, unique way.  We have the power to tell others – to be witnesses – of the truth of Jesus and His impact on our lives.  I don’t know about you, but sometimes I feel weak and uncertain.  I need to remind myself that I have received power.  And so have you.

in Him, Mike
