Good morning!

Text: Jeremiah 13-16; Proverbs 19
Jeremiah brings difficult words to his people.  He lives in terrible days, as the sin of God’s people in Judah has brought God’s judgment upon them.  Terror and sorrow mix together in Jeremiah’s words.  In the midst of it all, Jeremiah is a man of God, and so he knows that to be right with the Lord can bring comfort, peace and joy in the most awful circumstances:

Your words were found, and I ate them,
and your words became to me a joy
and the delight of my heart,
for I am called by your name,
O Lord, God of hosts. (Jeremiah 15:16)

If we are in Christ Jesus, we too are called by the Lord’s name.   We live in worrisome times.  It is good to be able to find joy and delight in our hearts – and in His word we can. I do hope you read your Bible every single day.
