Text: Luke 22; Numbers 13-14
After Jesus’ arrest, He was brought before the Jewish ruling council, who said to Jesus:
“If you are the Christ, tell us.” But he said to them, “If I tell you, you will not believe, and if I ask you, you will not answer. But from now on the Son of Man shall be seated at the right hand of the power of God.” (Luke 22:67-69)
This is a picture of the supernatural reality that surrounds us today. We are surrounded by all the many people who have heard the Good News of Jesus – how He is their savior, the Son of God, the promised King – and yet do not believe. They do not even want to talk about Him. But their denial does not in any way diminish the truth that Jesus died, rose again and is today “seated at the right hand of the power of God.” In this we have our strength and confidence in an unbelieving world. Jesus is King. Jesus is “large and in charge”. He is alive and coming again.
May He open the eyes of the blind, may He penetrate the darkness of the hearts of the unbelieving, may He bring the dead to life. For this we pray, and for this we serve Him.
in Him, Mike
