Good morning!

Text:  Isaiah 42-46; Proverbs 11

Many are waking up this morning to unease, anxiety and concern as a pandemic virus is at hand.  But for those who are in the Lord, there is reassurance in His Word:

But now thus says the Lord… “Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
    I have called you by name, you are mine.
 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
    and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
    and the flame shall not consume you.  (Isaiah 43:1-2)

As we go through this present trial, know that our great God is with us.  These promises are ours.  We will not be overwhelmed.  We will not be consumed.  So there is no need to fear, only hope.  Even for those who might get sick and die, if they belong to the Lord they will be fine.  For the believer, sudden death is sudden glory.  So, fear not.  Rest in Him this day.  Draw near to Him.  Spend some extra time in His Word and in prayer today.  Then, in all honesty, you can know for yourself and speak hope into those around you; “It’s fine, everything is fine.”

in Him, Mike
