Text: Psalms 22-24
The 23rd Psalm is so familiar that I often don’t take time to notice it when I read it. This Psalm is beautiful and rich. These few words are worth a pause:
“You anoint my head with oil, my cup overflows.” (Psalm 23:5)
The Lord anoints those whom He has chosen, the ones He plans to use in positions of authority and influence for His kingdom purposes. When He anoints, He is saying, “This is the one, this one is mine.” And the cup that overflows belongs to the one who is richly blessed, the one who is receiving God’s great abundance. Think on these few words. As I did, my heart swelled with thankfulness for my God’s grace and love.
