Good morning!

Text: Psalms 127-129

Recently our church hosted a course on parenting. The curriculum used this verse for its theme:

Like arrows in the hand of a warrior
are the children of one’s youth. (Psalm 127:4)

The privilege of parenting is to craft and release children. They are like an archer’s arrows. They need to be carefully hewn by the hand of the fletcher. The shaft must be straight and true and the feathers aligned perfectly for proper flight. So we build into our children righteousness, character, a love for God. Then, when the time comes, we put the arrow on the bow, pull back the string, aim and let them fly to the target God has for them. What a picture!
