Good morning!
Text: 1 Peter 2 (Job 5-6)
As Christians, we understand that we are just lowly sinners who have been saved by grace. That said, we are also quite extraordinary,
“…you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” (1 Peter 2:9)
Wow! We are chosen by God. We are royal – think of castles and courts and princes and princesses. Think of these words the next time you feel forlorn. And we are a priesthood – privileged to represent God to humanity and, in prayer, humanity to God. Finally, we have a clear and certain purpose – “to proclaim the excellencies of Him.” What status and privilege we have as we walk in “His marvelous light.”
in Him, Mike
