Good morning!
Text: Ezekiel 31-34; Psalm 128-129
Ezekiel brings many laments and words of doom for Judah, Israel and the surrounding nations. But, there are bright spots. This is the nature of prophecy – to bring stern warning of the consequences of sin while also holding out the promise of profound blessing for all who turn to the Lord. This is the hope we share as Christians – the promises of our great God for those whom Jesus has redeemed. Consider Ezekiel 34:26:
“And I will make them and the places all around my hill a blessing, and I will send down the showers in their season; they shall be showers of blessing.”
The Lord has richly blessed us with every spiritual blessing. But have you ever considered that He has made us to be a blessing to others? He rains down showers of blessings upon us that we might bless one another and the world around us. For my day today, this needs to be my prayer: “Lord, today, make me a blessing for someone else. Use me to channel your good favor to another. Open my heart to their need above my own. Make me a blessing. Amen.”
in Him, Mike
