Good morning!

Text:  2 John  (Job 29-30)

2 John is very brief – only one chapter- but it speaks true words from our great God.  As John closes, he writes;

“Though I have much to write to you, I would rather not use paper and ink. Instead I hope to come to you and talk face to face, so that our joy may be complete.”  (2 John 12)

There is a powerful truth here for us today.  There is no substitute for being together, face-to-face, when we communicate.  Experts tell us that the vast majority of the content our communication is non-verbal.  Just the words by themselves comprise less than one fifth of what gets shared when we communicate.  These days, we rely on text messages, emails, Instagram and such with some telephone calls thrown in.  When we do, we lose the power of tone, facial expressions, body language and touch, so our communication is accordingly shallow and weak.  Communication is the currency of relationship, so it is no surprise that our relationships are also shallow and weak.  Take time to spend time together – physically face-to-face – with the people in your life.  It is essential.

in Him, Mike
