Text: 1 John 5; Job 27-28
Here are great words of confidence in prayer:
And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him. (1 John 5:14-15)
When we pray, it is obvious that we should be seeking to pray according to God’s will. But, how do we know God’s will? Often we most certainly do. For example, we know it is His will that we love one another. We know it is His will that we speak the truth. We know it is His will that we keep our promises. We know that it is God’s will that we trust Him. It is God’s will that we forgive one another. This word says that when we ask for such things, he hears and we receive.
The marvelous truth is that when we ask according to His will, we receive what we ask for. And so the reason we don’t pray is what, exactly?
in Him, Mike
