Good morning!
Text: Daniel 7-9; Psalm 145
One verse caught my eye in today’s reading. It speaks vision into the life of the local church:
One generation shall commend your works to another,
and shall declare your mighty acts. (Psalm 145:8)
As we reach the world around us for Jesus, we proclaim to all who might have “ears to hear.” Of special interest are the young people – because in them will be the legacy of a strong church for the generations to come. When it comes to ministry focus, our eyes should always bend downward – to younger people. This can mean challenge and change for the local church. The younger generations are different from us older folks. They have different ways of communicating, different tastes in music and clothing. And they need Jesus and they need His love and ours in full measure. This means that the older generation will need to make sacrifices to reach, engage, and equip the younger. May we gladly seize the task.
