Good morning!
Text: Ezekiel 20-23; Psalm 123-124
Ezekiel cries out to the people of Jerusalem and Judah that they might see their sins and turn from them. His message is the message for us all – as sinners – to turn to the Lord and be saved.
In recent months, we have gathered regularly as a church and even with other churches in our area to pray for revival. The first step in every revival, whether in the Bible or in Church history, has been for the people to turn from their sins. For that to happen, the fire of God’s Spirit must come to awaken and cleanse His people. Ezekiel 20:47 says these words:
“Hear the word of the Lord: Thus says the Lord God, Behold, I will kindle a fire in you, and it shall devour every green tree in you and every dry tree. The blazing flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from south to north shall be scorched by it.”
This what we ought to pray for – a great fire to break out. May the Spirit of the Living God sweep through us and our land and bring people to turn from sin. The great news is that all who do, and turn to God, will find His unfailing love, forgiveness, acceptance, love, joy and peace – all beyond imagining. Pray for the fire!
in Him, Mike
